Serbia’s industrial production fell by 0.3% year-on-year in February 2026, easing from a sharp 9.1% decline in January and marking the mildest contraction in four months, amid a broad-based recovery in output.

Energy production dropped by 4.9%, a substantial improvement compared to the 21.1% fall recorded a month earlier. The downturn in consumer goods also moderated: output of durable consumer goods decreased by 12.4%, after a 24.9% slump in January, while production of non-durable consumer goods declined by 1.7%, improving from an 8.0% drop.

Production of intermediate goods excluding energy edged down by 0.4%, compared with a 3.4% contraction in the previous month. In contrast, capital goods output expanded strongly, surging by 16.7% after an 8.6% increase in January.

On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial activity rose by 5.5% in February, following a 1.4% gain in January. Over the first two months of 2026 as a whole, industrial production was down 4.7% compared with the same period a year earlier.
